Volunteer Role: Caregiver Support Group Facilitator
Why I chose to volunteer with FCBC: I reached out to FCBC almost from the beginning, as I was adjusting to working in long-term care at the time and it was new to me!
My personal caregiving experience and/or association has been: My mother had early onset Alzheimer’s and I worked at a long-term care facility.
Upon reflection of your volunteer investment, your favourite part of working with FCBC/family caregivers is: Helping friends and neighbours in a rural setting.
What would you say to others who may be interested in becoming an FCBC volunteer: Do it! Do it! It is so rewarding.
Favourite quote/motto or words of wisdom for other caregivers: It is better to be kind than correct!
