Family and friend caregivers are an important member of the healthcare team along with doctors, nurses, allied healthcare team members, and the person you are caring for. There are different ways you can participate, for example being present as support or participating in care decisions. How and when you participate will depend on the comfort levels of both you and the person you are caring for.
