About the event:
The Caregivers Connect Celebration is a special-edition of our Caregivers Connect support group, offering caregivers an opportunity to enjoy fun and reflective activities, including a short somatic dialogue session with Tania Suzuki and accessible mindful movement class with Shelly Yu.
About Tania Suzuki: Tania is an experienced health professional with a multidisciplinary background. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor trained in Brazil and in New York and a kinesiologist with a Master’s degree from UBC. Tania is interested in the intersection between body and mind and has been working with body techniques since 1993, and the clients who remained with her the most were the ones in pain. Tania helps clients find the wisdom of their own nervous system and find their support, while feeling supported by her. She has been working in the Pain Management Program at CBI Health since 2015.
About Shelly Yu: Shelly Yu is a Neuro Physiotherapist with special interests in Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy and other chronic diseases. She is also an Education & Support Services Coordinator at Parkinson Society BC, and the Advocacy Officer at the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Global Health Division.
