Become a Volunteer Caregiver Ambassador

Raise awareness. Strengthen caregiver support.

Family Caregivers of British Columbia (FCBC) is a non-profit charity dedicated to improving the lives of family and friend caregivers through education, emotional support, and advocacy. We believe that raising awareness is key to building supportive communities for caregivers across BC.

What is a Caregiver Ambassador?

Volunteer Caregiver Ambassadors represent FCBC at community events — including health fairs, presentations, and resource exhibits — by sharing information about caregiver support services and programs. This is an outreach-focused role (not peer support or advocacy), ideal for individuals passionate about making caregiver support more visible.

As an Ambassador, you can:

✔ Represent FCBC at resource fairs and community events
✔ Share key messages about programs like Caregiver Rx and our support services
✔ Answer general questions and direct people to resources
✔ Use prepared talking points, FAQs, and print materials
✔ Help expand FCBC’s reach and visibility
✔ Participate in virtual appreciation events

How It Works

  • You’ll receive invitations to join events based on your location and availability
  • You choose which events to attend — no minimum commitment
  • Events typically last 1–2 hours, plus preparation time
  • You’ll complete a short self-paced onboarding module
  • Support and materials are provided before each event

Past Event Examples:

  • Seniors’ health fairs
  • Caregiver awareness week exhibits
  • Wellness expos in local communities
  • Presentations to community groups

Who Can Join?

  • Anyone with an interest in supporting caregivers
  • Lived experience as a caregiver is an asset, but not required
  • Comfort with public speaking or event tabling
  • Professional, approachable, and aligned with FCBC’s mission

Training & Support

  • Self-paced onboarding eLearning module
  • Prep materials: talking points, handouts, presentation slides
  • Optional check-ins or prep calls with FCBC staff
  • Ongoing support from our Health & Community Engagement team
