Volunteer Opportunities

Why Volunteer With Us

Family Caregivers of British Columbia (FCBC) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for family caregivers through support, information, and education. We provide leadership to amplify the voices of caregivers and highlight the vital role they play.

Every day, 1 in 4 Canadians quietly step up as caregivers—offering love, support, and care to family members or friends facing illness, disability, or aging. These dedicated individuals often put their own needs aside to be there for their loved ones. By volunteering with Family Caregivers of BC, you become a vital part of this support system—helping to ease their journey, raise awareness, and build stronger communities.

When you volunteer, you can:

  • Support those caring for family or friends who are elderly, ill, or living with disabilities
  • Make a meaningful difference in someone’s life
  • Develop new skills and share your time and talents
  • Experience personal growth, learning, and satisfaction
  • Pursue professional development opportunities
  • Expand your professional network
  • Connect with others passionate about making a positive impact
  • Help create lasting change in the community
  • Fulfill education or work experience requirements
