How we support caregivers
Caregiver Rx social prescribing
In collaboration with funding partners, our two-year expansion project aims to scale the Caregiver Rx© social prescribing model to enhance wrap-around support for caregivers, co-create an evaluation approach, and support health system transformation.
Toll-free caregiver support line
The BC Caregiver Support Line offers compassionate guidance and a sense of community for caregivers. It is accessible anywhere in BC and operates from 8:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
1:1 caregiver coaching sessions
Free one-to-one coaching provided by trained and knowledgeable staff. Caregivers receive personalized wellness plans, advocacy support, and practical resources.
Community support groups
Free guided weekly community support groups provide opportunities to share and connect with other caregivers in-person.
Virtual caregiver resource centre
The Caregiver Learning Centre is an online community offering varied print, audio, and video resources for caregivers to enhance their resilience and learning.
Webinars
Educational webinars for both caregivers and healthcare providers to ensure they have the skills to support those in their care. Additional videos are available to support caregiver well-being.

Referring is easy
You can refer family caregivers in two ways.
Online referral form
Simply complete the short online form, ensure caregiver consent, and they will be contacted by a Family Caregivers of BC Community Navigator within two to three business days.
Caregiver Rx© Prescription pad
Once you identify your patient as a caregiver, it takes less than ten seconds to hand them the Caregiver Rx prescription note with contact info for Family Caregivers of BC.
