Caregivers in the Wild (May 2026) – Online Screening & Discussion

In celebration of National Caregiver Month this May 2025, Family Caregivers of BC (FCBC) hosted a special virtual event showcasing the heartfelt and inspiring docuseries Caregivers in the Wild—an innovative project by Dr. Mike Lang that follows real caregivers as they reflect on their journeys while immersed in nature. Through powerful storytelling, the series explores themes such as balance, hope, and mindfulness, offering a unique and moving perspective on the caregiving experience.

The event brought together caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members from across British Columbia for an evening of storytelling, reflection, and connection.

Moderated by filmmaker and host Dr. Mike Lang, attendees viewed three short episodes of Caregivers in the Wild, each followed by a thoughtful conversation and live Q&A with featured guests and experts.

  • The Nature of Balance
  • The Nature of Hope

Speakers and Panelists Included:

  • Dr. Mike Lang – Filmmaker, facilitator, and host of Caregivers in the Wild
  • Dr. Linda Carlson – Clinical psychologist and mindfulness expert
  • Sam Taylor – Caregiver and advocate
  • Lynne Crabbe – Caregiver and educator

Together, the panelists shared insights, stories, and tools that illuminated the challenges and strengths of caregiving. The event also featured supportive resources and information about FCBC’s ongoing programs for caregivers in British Columbia.
